These tweeters are some strange creatures having the dust cap fixed to pole piece by a brass screw, thus a rugged mechanical high-pass filter. The impact on frequency response from this is a broad peak centered around 12-14 kHz, 15 dB above basic level - and some 10 dB above the average response from the 8" driver. Those who choose to run their tweeter from a single cap alone, usually 2.2 uF, certainly get some upper treble level!
