The price of 548 DM at that time (approx. 1100 € converted to today's purchasing power) was about a third below the price of specialist retail branded devices of a similar class / performance. Upper middle class receivers cost about double (800-1200 DM), upper class four times (approx. 2000-2500, - DM).
