Faylon is/was a brand of PA/bass/guitar amps from Belgium. Faylon Electronics company was based in Brussels and founded by J-P Servranckx (I think it's the brother of a well known belgian stand-up comedy pioneer, Urbanus van Anus). The amps gained a good reputation in Belgium and Holland. Most notable Faylon users were dutch band The Golden Earring and belgian crooner Will Tura, but also popgroups such as The Pebbles as well as John Woolley and Just Born were using Faylon gear

Faylon also manufactured powered mixing desks, effect pedals (I think Discofreq has one of the sole surviving Faylon Fuzzmachien pedals in existence), and solid state PA systems. The best known guitar amps are the Hurricane and the Studio 100. Faylon went out of business in 1977, but there are still lots of amps being used today.

Most of their designs are solid state or hybrid. Most of their hybrid amps used EL503's with a ecc83 phase invertor. The preamp is their weak spot, the first stage is always solid state, second is sometimes tube.

Faylon amps:
- hurricane 100
hurricane 2
- studio 2: 15" combo, same amplifier as the hurricane 100
- universal 1 : same as the universal 100, but with 4 tubes
- universal 100: a PA amplifier, 2 tubes, 4 inputs. There were diffrent pluggable pcb's to choose between instrument/line/mic
- summit

the speakers that were used were also made in Belgium, possibly made by ACEC of Herstal.

since EL503 tubes are kind of hard to find, there are some mods to convert the amps to 6L6 tubes, or alternatively, you could just replace the EL503's with 8278 tubes, made by GE and Amperex
